Global APC Armored Personnel Carrier Market 2022-2032

$3,500.00

Category: Tag:

The APC, also known as an armored personnel carrier, infantry mobility vehicle, or armored car, is a type of armored vehicle used to transport troops and supplies to the front lines of battle. APCs (Armored Personnel Carriers) are lighter than infantry fighting vehicles and main battle tanks, which makes them more maneuverable. APCs are not used in direct-fire combat like IFVs (Infantry fighting vehicles) because their primary function is transportation. However, they are only minimally armed for self-defense and are protected by armor from shrapnel, small weapons fire, and artillery fire.

Description

APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) also called armored combat vehicles, Infantry mobility vehicle or armored car is an armored vehicle designed to carry equipment and troops to the battlefield. The Weight of the APCs (Armored Personnel Carriers) is less than the main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles this makes them be more mobile. Unlike the IFVs (Infantry fighting vehicles), APCs do not take part in the direct-fire battle because they are primarily designed only for transport. Still, they are lightly armed for self-defense and are armored for protection against small arms, artillery fire, and shrapnel. Moreover, certain types of APCs are used by non-military organizations also.

Rising incidents of asymmetric warfare and preventing riots in the urban areas are the factors that are positively impacting the growth of personal armored carriers. In addition, a rise in the expenditure on defense that too in emerging economies and investments in procuring armored vehicles to strengthen combat further boost the APC market. Factors such as delay in the procurement process hinder the market growth to a certain extent. Meanwhile, focus on counter operations on rising terrorist activities, and the ageing combat vehicle upgradation program is being initiated by many countries. Which in turn paves way for the growth of the APC Market.

Major factors driving the growth of the market

There is a decline in defense spending in the developed countries; Asia-Pacific and the Middle East are gaining traction among manufacturers of defense equipment. Due to uncertain geopolitical events and increased terrorist activity, governments are increasing defense spending. As a consequence, there would be growth in the armored personnel Carrier in the future period. In EO cameras, updated and advanced sensor technology is used, such as high-definition field of view all around the vehicle.

Trends influencing the growth of the market

The advancements in composite technology will promote light weight and agile APCs. Evolution of active and passive protection systems will aid in development of robust and versatile APCs that can counter missile and RPG threats. Advancements in the design of advanced hull that can better withstand explosions and offer better blast protection will also encourage the growth of defense APC market.

Market Dynamics

Maximising Mobility, durability, and accuracy is the main purpose of the armored vehicle. Undesired noise and high vibration in the vehicle are undesirable since they cause discomfort to the crew. The efficiency of an armored platform is reduced by vehicle vibration. During missions, vibration caused by armored vehicles causes components to fail prematurely and can harm the crew of the vehicle. Proliferation of ATGMs also pose a significant threat to the APC platform. The Russia – Ukraine conflict has seen significant loss of armored vehicles due to increasing use of UAVs and ATGMS.

Recent Developments

In the past four months, BAE Systems has been producing AMPVs for the U.S. Army at full-rate levels. The business aims to speed up production even further, but to do so, it will need to spend in expanding its assembly line and equipment, according to a report published on Tuesday by Breaking Defense. Can BAE systems meet the pace at which we must field troops, the Army must consider? That [full-rate production] decision is influenced by our capacity to continue full rate speed as we have for the past four months, Sheehy said in an interview.

The Army seeks a small tank that can destroy bunkers and outgun opposing armoured vehicles for infantry brigades. It gave General Dynamics Land Systems a $1.14 billion contract on Tuesday for the Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) programme, the Army’s first brand-new vehicle in more than 40 years. The contract award was not particularly unexpected. The sole remaining rival, BAE Systems, was eliminated from the race earlier this year. In a statement, Army officials said that MPF will give infantry brigades “better survivability, the capacity to identify threat systems earlier and at larger distances, and will not hinder movement in off-road terrain.” Additionally, MPF will enable soldiers to move more quickly, defending the attacking force.

To replace the Corps’ ageing fleet of amphibious assault vehicles, 36 Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACVs) and related vehicls are being ordered by experts in amphibious warfare (AAVs).The Marine Corps Systems Command at Quantico Marine Base, Virginia, announced Friday that it has placed a $173.6 million order for 36 ACV armoured combat vehicles with BAE Systems Platforms & Services in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The contract has a cumulative value of $1.7 billion.2018 saw the Marine Corps pick BAE Systems over Reston, Virginia’s Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) as the ACV prime contractor.
